Protocol 'Hide Nothing': The Death of the Secret Sauce

February 08, 2026 • Culinary Ops

The food industry is built on opacity. “Secret Sauces,” hidden ghost kitchens, and obscure supply chains. You see the final dish, but you never see the journey.

At FoodHero, we enforce Protocol: Hide Nothing.

1. The Cost Breakdown

When you pay ₹250 for a Shah Biryani, you deserve to know where that money went. We aim to print the receipt on the box:

  • Ingredients: ₹92 (Basmati Rice: Vendor A, Saffron: Vendor B)
  • Labor: ₹40
  • Packaging: ₹15
  • Logistics: ₹30
  • Manaspurti Margin: ₹23

If our margin is too high, you have the right to be angry. If it’s too low, you know we are efficient.

2. The Recipe is Public

We do not believe in secret recipes. A recipe is data. We will publish the exact gram-for-gram breakdown of what you are eating.

Scenario: You love our Butter Chicken. But you just lost your job and can’t afford to order it. Our Response: Here is the PDF of the recipe. Here is where we buy the tomatoes. Cook it yourself. We want you to eat well, even if you don’t pay us.

3. The “According to Us” Disclaimer (Honesty about Science)

We are honest about our limitations. When we say a meal is “Healthy” or “Balanced,” we will explicitly state:

“This is based on our internal culinary guidelines and general nutritional knowledge. It has not been proven by double-blind clinical research. We are chefs and engineers, not doctors. This is our best effort, not a medical prescription.”

We will not hide behind vague marketing buzzwords. If a dish is high in sugar, the app will tell you: “This is an indulgence, not a staple. Eat responsibly.”

The Question: Why is the food industry the only industry where you put something inside your body without seeing the Bill of Materials?
